PTI To Continue Support PAT Until It Gets Justice: Imran

Jaranwala, Faislabad (December 08, 2017): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan said on Friday that his party would support Pakistan Awami Tehreek Chief Tahirul Qadri until it gets justice in the Model Town incident.

According to the details, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has announced on Friday to support Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) in its struggle against the incumbent government to get perpetrators of Model Town tragedy to justice.

Speaking to Public gathering in Jaranwala, PTI Chief deeply criticized the Punjab government, particularly Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif.

“I will not rest until these people are behind the bars,” said Imran.

Imran alleged that Sharif brothers caused deaths of 14 people, adding that such incidents will increase if silence was maintained.

Imran while criticising the ideology of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League said that the party’s vision is to come in power then steal from the poor in the name of development projects.

The nation has woken up and they have understood the ideology of the PML-N, he said.

He said that the political party stands with PAT chief Dr Tahirul Qadri until he is granted justice in the tragic Model Town incident of June, 2014.Khan vowed to resort to street agitation and lodge protests if Dr Qadri decides to get victimised families of the tragedy justice.

PTI chief alleged former first family of Pakistan and Punjab chief minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif for ordering murders of 14 people in Model Town over three years ago during clashes of Punjab Police with PAT workers.

Khan further claimed that the political party would pursue action against Sharif brothers until they are sent to Adiala Jail.

He said that Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah should be tried for murder as “he is the one who ordered the police to open fire” when 14 sympathisers of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) were killed in Model Town, Lahore.

“He (Rana Sanaullah) also looks like a murderer. He can easily get cast as a villain in a Punjabi movie,” said Imran.The PTI chief condemned the US decision to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, and criticised the United Nations for failing to safeguard the rights of the Palestinian people.

“Israel has been trying to divide the Muslim world on sectarian lines. However, the recent decision by President Donald Trump and Israel will have the opposite effect, and the whole Muslim world will be united against this decision,” he said.

The PTI chief earlier arrived in Faisalabad’s district Jaranwala to address a party gathering.

According to police officials, more than 12,500 policemen have been deployed for the security of the venue of the rally.

Recently, the Punjab government, at the behest of the Lahore High Court, made the report for the Model Town incident public on December 5. The report was drafted by Justice Baqir Najfi and termed the 2014 tragedy in Lahore’s Model Town as the “most unfortunate incident” in the country’s history.

At least 14 people were killed and 100 others injured in the police action against PAT workers during an ‘anti-encroachment operation’ in June 2014.

Following the report being made public, the Pakistan People’s Party also threw its weight behind the PAT, demanding Punjab CM Shehbaz Sharif’s resignation.

Meanwhile, the PTI has recently intensified its political activities and started holding rallied across Pakistan to garner support for upcoming general elections in 2018.
