PTI Wins Speaker, Dy Speaker’s Elections In KP Assembly

Peshawar (August 15, 2018): Pakistan Tehreek Insaaf’s Candidates Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani and Mahmooud Jan took oath as Speaker and Deputy Speaker of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly in Peshawar.

Sardar Aurangzeb Nalota who acted as a presiding officer of the session administered the oath.

Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani was elected as Speaker of the Provincial Assembly and Mahmud Jan elected as Deputy Speaker.

Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani secured eighty-one votes. His rival Laiq Muhammad Khan of Awami National Party got twenty-seven votes.

Meanwhile, Mahmood Jan of PTI was elected as Deputy Speaker of the Provincial Assembly in Peshawar today.PTI’s Mehmood Jaan Sworn In As Dpy Speaker KP AssemblyHe secured seventy-eight votes. His rival candidate Jamshaid Khan Mohmand of PML-N secured thirty votes. One vote was declared invalid.

Later, Mahmood Jan took oath as Deputy Speaker. Speaker Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani administered the oath.

Earlier on August 13, newly Elected MPAs of the KP Assembly took the oath of their office in the Inaugural session of the house.

As many as 112 newly elected members were administered PML-N leader Sardar Aurangzeb Nalota administered the oath to KP members.

In the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, the PTI has increased its seats share to 64 members after the inclusion of two independent members in the party’s fold. With the numbers in hand, the party has taken its seat total to 84 seats after addition of 16 women and two minority seats.The MMA is at the distant second with 13 seats including 10 general seats, two women, and a minority reserved seat.

ANP secured a nine-member representation with seven members on general seats and two seats on women reserved seats.

The PML-N won five general seats, and with the addition of one women reserved seat, its tally stands at six in the provincial assembly. The PPP with four general seats and one women reserved sear stands with the total of five seats.
