Lahore: Punjab’s Information Minister Fayyaz Ul Hassan Chohan has said that the province achieved a target of 41 lakh ton of wheat by breaking 10-year record.
The Minister in his statement on Wednesday said that the Buzdar government is trying every possible effort to control inflation and providing relief to masses.
Fayyaz Chohan said that the provincial government started providing wheat to flour mills by two months before fixing Rs 1400 per 40 Kg adding that the Buzdar government has been providing 17 thousands metric ton wheat to flour mills for three months.
He said that the wheat release will be extended gradually to 21 thousand metric ton daily adding that the government has provided more than 12.5 lakh ton wheat to flour mills so far.
The Minister also apprised that it is decided to form inspection committees for checking prices and provision of wheat adding that
Sindh completed 12 lakh ton wheat target out of a overall target of 14 lakh ton this year by not doing wheat procurement it also created artificial crisis, he added.
