PFA Issues Guideline To Energy Drink Companies

Lahore(May 01, 2018): Punjab Foor Authority has directed the energy drinks companies to not use the word “Energy” for their drinks because the word energy is not right in the context of science and techniques and misleads.

The guideline has been issued by the Punjab Food Authority to stop misleading labeling of beverages.According to Punjab Food Authority, companies must publish these directions in both Urdu and English languages:

  • Highly Caffeinated drink
  • Not for women under pregnancy
  • Not for kids under 12 years
  • Avoid using if you are caffeine allergic
  • To not use Pharmaceutical ingredients in drinks
  • and the quantity of caffeine should remain under ppm 200 to mgl 200

The companies are given a deadline of eight months to follow and implement the directions.Companies violating the guideline after completion of Business Adjustment Time will be wasted as caught.
