LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) leader Sibtain Khan has stepped down from the post after he was taken into custody by Nation Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Friday night.
According to details, the detained Punjab minister has forwarded his resignation to Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar as he was produced before the accountability court.
It must be noted that the NAB had apprehended Minister for Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) leader Sibtain Khan in connection to the charges of allocating illegal tenders to a blue-eyed company during Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) tenure in 2007.
The sources have further informed that the accused will be produced before Accountability Court tomorrow. He is accused of allocating illegal tenders of minerals of worth Rs500 million to blue-eyed company.
The accused has allegedly allotted a tender of hundreds of million rupees to a company whose entire worth was Rs2.5 million.
