Lahore (November 17, 2017): A local court here handed over the manager of the company Malik Warris involved in corruption in clean drinking water case to Anti Establishment police on three-day extended physical remand till November 20.
Anti Corruption police has produced suspect Malik Warris in the court of Judicial Magistrate Ghulam Shabbir Cheema after the completion of physical remand.
According to Anti Corruption police the suspect committed a corruption of Rs 16.9 million in the funds of Clean Water Company while working as manager of the company.The Anti Corruption police had asked the court to extend suspect’s physical remand for another five days for investigations and recovery of the looted funds. However, the court granted an extension of another three-day in suspect’s physical remand.
It may be mentioned here that massive corruption was unearthed the clean drinking water scheme of the Punjab government.
It may also be mentioned here that on the 19th of last month Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had said that billions of rupees were thus far allocated for implementation of “Khadim-e-Punjab Saaf Pani Programme”.
