Qadri Announces Not To Review Resignation Decision

Lahore (June 22, 2018): Disgruntled PML N Leader Zaeem Qadri has announced not to review his decision of resignation and said that he would contest the elections as an independent candidate.

Talking exclusively with Abb Takk News, Zaeem Qadri said that he has no contact with Shehbaz Sharif or anybody else. He said that there is no importance of any contact with anyone, when someone decides not to reconcile or review the decision.

Replying to a question, he said that he has no plan to join PTI and he would stick to his decision to contest the election as an independent candidate.

Earlier, PML-N received a big shock on Thursday when its senior leader and former Punjab government spokesperson Zaeem Qadri announced defection and vowed to take part as an independent candidate in the upcoming election.

“Hear Hamza! Lahore is neither you and nor your father property, I can’t polish your shoes,” he said in a hurriedly and stormy press conference after the meeting with senior party leader Khawaja Saad Rafique, who failed to redress his concern over the not awarding of a ticket to him.

“I will contest from NA-133 Lahore as an independent candidate,” he announced.

Qadri challenged Hamza, saying he will get into politics in Lahore and show him.

“I’m not your masseur” will do the bidding of the workers, the disgruntled leader said. “I stand by the workers of Punjab and Pakistan.”

“I have given my life and money [to PML-N], and spent time in jails for you,” Qadri said.

Recounting his family’s struggles for democracy and the PML-N, he warned: “You have ruled Punjab for 10 years, bring on the unit that you have made in Punjab comprising of your employees and contest the election [against me].”

Qadri, who has reportedly not been awarded the party’s ticket, said it was not about the elections but that his patience had run out because of what has happened in the province during the past 10 years.

According to sources, Qadri was seen upset with the PML-N leadership as the party has decided to field another candidate to contest polls in the constituency, NA-133.

Besides Qadri, Imran Shah and Asif Raza are also said to be upset with the party leadership hence would be contesting polls as independent candidates from PP-166 and PP-167 respectively.Earlier on Thursday, PML-N leader and former railways minister Khawaja Saad Rafique and another party leader Rana Mashhood reached Township to placate the disgruntled Qadri, however, they failed to remove his reservations.
