Qaim Ali Shah Granted Extension in Interim Bail Till May 8

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday has extended interim bail of former Sindh chief minister Qaim Ali Shah till May 8 in fake bank accounts case.

Two member bench comprising Justice Aamir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiani heard the plea for extension in bail.

Qaim Ali Shah accompanied with his lawyer Farooq H. Naek appeared in the hearing pertaining to the fake bank accounts case.

Prosecutor National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Muzaffar Abbasi told the court that NAB has submitted para-wise comments in the court, however, Farooq Naek denying said that they did not copy of it.

The court on the plea of Farooq H. Naek seeking extension in bail of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader said in its remarks that court could no schedule all cases on May 15. On which Farooq said he would have to go on Umra, therefore, bail should be extended till May 8.

The court accepting his plea extended the bail till May 8.

On last hearing, Shah was granted bail by the court till April 30(today).

Earlier, Shah was granted bail by the IHC against surety bonds of Rs1 million each in the cases and directed him to cooperate with the NAB investigation team.
