Qatari Foreign Minister Called On COAS

Rawalpindi (October 20, 2018): Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman al Thani called on Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa in Rawalpindi and discussed regional security issues and matters of mutual interest. 

Speaking on the occasion, the Army Chief said that Pakistan will continue to positively contribute towards regional peace and stability.

The Qatari Foreign Minister acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan’s achievements in the fight against terrorism and continued efforts for peace and stability in the region.Earlier on October 19, the Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani met with Prime Minister Imran Khan and agreed to cement the bilateral ties.

During the meeting, Qatari FM delivered the Qatari Ameer message of felicitation over his victory in general election.

He told the PM Imran that Qatar wanted to enhance bilateral relation with Pakistan and wished to work with the new leadership.

“Qatar will continue to cooperate with Pakistan in the journey of prosperity and development,” he said.

Talking on the occasion PM Imran Khan expressed the hope that bilateral ties will further be enhanced and will cause the increase in trade ties.“We laud the Qatar announcement to given Pakistanis 100, 000 jobs and invite the Qatari investors to invest in the fields of livestock, agriculture and others,” he said.

Before meeting Prime Minister Imran, Qatari Foreign Minister reached Islamabad and met with Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi.

Foreign Office Spokesman said that the Qatari FM and Qureshi discussed bilateral relations and matters pertaining to mutual interest in the meeting.

He handed over the message of Amir-e-Qatar in which he congratulated him over success in the general election.During the meeting, Qureshi invited the Qatari businessmen to invest in the fields of livestock, energy and refinery.

On the occasion, FM Qureshi hailed Qatar’s decision to give employment to one hundred thousand Pakistanis.
