Qawwal Maestro Aziz Mian Remembered On His Birth Anniversary

Web Desk: Renowned Qawwal Aziz Mian was remembered on his 77th birthday anniversary on Wednesday (Today).

Aziz Mian was born as Abdul Aziz in Delhi, British India. He obtained his master degrees in Arabic, Persian language, Persian literature, Urdu literature and history from the University of Punjab.

He was also famous for singing ghazals in qawwali style. He began learning the art of Qawwali under the guidance of Ustad Abdul Wahid Khan at the age of 10.

The Government of Pakistan awarded him the Pride of Performance medal in 1989.

Aziz Mian died on December 6, 2000 from complications following hepatitis. He was laid to rest in Multan.
