Quetta blast: Death toll rises to 70

The death toll of the suicide blast at Civil hospital in Quetta has risen to 70 while many of over 80 injured are reported to be in critical condition.

The suicide bomber had blew himself up after the body of the president of Balochistan Bar Bilal Anwar Kasi, who was target killed a short while earlier, was brought to the Civil hospital.

Fifty-three people have so far died in the attack that occurred near the Accident Ward of the hospital while many have been injured. Most of the dead are lawyers and senior lawyer and former president of Balochistan High Court Bar Association Baz Muhammad Kakar and cameramen of Dawn TV Mahmood and cameraman of Aaj TV Shahzad are among those dead.

Eye witnesses the suicide bomber blew himself up near Accident Ward. The loud blast was heard far and away. Over 100 people have also been injured in the terror attack. Many of the injured people were moved to other hospitals due to paucity f space at the Civil hospital. Emergency was imposed at all the hospitals in Quetta after the blast.

The bodies of the 38 people who died in the blast lie at the Civil hospital, 14 are at CMH hospital, and one at BCM hospital.
