Quetta: Pak Army Polo Tournament Kicked off

Quetta (September 20, 2017): The opening ceremony of the Balochistan Polo Tournament,  being organized by Pakistan Army, was held at Polo and Saddle Club, Quetta, today.

Commander southern command General Amer Riaz was the chief guest on the occasion. He also inaugurated the newly constructed building of the club.

Later, he threw the ball into the field to formally kick off the tournament. The members of provincial assembly, civil and military officials were also attended the opening ceremony.

The tournament is designed at promoting national harmony and peace, with the motto “polo for peace”. Top teams from across country including Pakistan Army will compete.

Players have the view that the contests of other games including polo will also be held in Quetta so that world could be apprised Balochistan was moving towards peace.

The week long tournament will also include Tent Pegging competitions. Senior civil and military officials and large number of game lovers witnessed the event.
