Karachi (February 10, 2018): Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) Convener Dr Farooq Sattar has said that the Rabita Committee (RC) members will be served show-cause notices over conduction unconstitutional party meetings.
While talking to media for the second time within few hours on Friday night, Farooq Sattar called general workers meeting on Sunday at 3 pm. He said,” We will hold workers’ court on Sunday.”
The MQM convener said that time has come to take action against the violators of party rules. Sattar said that few people were trying to impose their decisions after capturing the Rabita Committee and Bahadurabad office.
Sattar said that he was stopped to visit Bahadurabad office. He reiterated that all the meetings and decisions taken by Rabita Committee were illegal and unconstitutional. Sattar said that he was stabbed in the back.
Sattar said that he did not want to take revenge but to reduce distances. He urged the party workers to come out of their homes on February 11 and save their party. Sattar said that people’s court will held in PIB Colony at 3 pm on Sunday.
He said that no one could remove the party Convener and added that he will take decision about his party headship in the general workers meeting.
Farooq Sattar said the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will have to reject the letter written by Rabita Committee about shifting of powers to issue senate and election tickets.
Earlier in a press briefing, Sattar said that he was ready to chair the Rabita Committee meeting in Bahadurabad, if the committee accept his suggestions which he had handed over to the arbitration committee.
While addressing a press conference MQM convener said that it is not true that the Rabita Committee is calling him and he is reluctant to visit Bahadurabad. He was of the view that they were wasting time on a nonissue.
Sattar said that he prevented Rabita Committee to held press conferences on February 5 and 6 but they put a deaf ear to him.
Sattar said that the authority to issue tickets is awarded to Rabita Committee illegally. He said the letter to the Election Commission of Pakistan showed no confidence over his leadership.
The main issue is his self respect, headship and ego, sattar added. MQM convener said that he is ready to step down, if workers consider Bahadurabad on the right direction.
