Radio, PTV Employees’ Degrees To Be Verified

Islamabad (October 15, 2018): Federal Government on Monday has decided to verify the degrees of employees appointed in Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television after  2008.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad has directed the concerned authorities to constitute a board in this regard.

A three-member board headed by Director General internal publicity wing Ministry of Information will carry out the verification process. Verification process covering all employees will start with the senior officers and it will be completed within one month.

In case of failure of verification of degrees by the HEC, the concerned officers and employees will be liable to deposit back the received salaries. Notices will also be issued to those officers who appointed them.

Earlier on September 26, the PTI Led government withdrew its decision to lease the premises of Radio Pakistan following protests from employees.

Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan said the government has reached an agreement with Radio Pakistan employees and decided to take back its plan.

“For the time being, we have taken back our decision to lease Radio Pakistan premises,” Ali Muhammad said.

Further, he assured that the information minister will take no steps without taking Radio Pakistan employees on board.Following the state minister’s assurances, the Radio Pakistan employees called off their protest.

Earlier, Radio Pakistan Employees started to march towards Parliament House against government’s decision of leasing Radio Pakistan Building.

According to the details, police started baton-charge over the protesting employees, soon after they started to march towards parliament house against the government’s decision.
