ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Senator Rehman Malik met Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chairman Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri at his container in Red Zone area of Islamabad.
Rehman Malik termed the withdrawal of Qadri’s legal notice to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari as a good sign of positive thinking.
Malik also announced a “ceasefire” between the chairmans of the two parties.
Earlier, PAT had sent a legal notice to the PPP Chairman over his comments on Tahir-ul-Qadri only to take it back after receiving instructions from the PAT Chairman.
He said that the constitution only allows mid-term elections in the country but PPP wants the federal government to complete its constitutional terms.
The People’s Party senator added that the political jirgah will take the negotiation process forward after it receives key explanations from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
