ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Thursday forecast rain as well as snowfall over hills in most parts of the country in the next 24 hours.

According to Met Office, north-western part of Balochistan, Upper areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Upper Punjab, Islamabad and some districts of Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir are likely to receive rain with lightning while snowfall is expected in hilly areas.

On Wednesday, the remained cold and dry in most parts of the country. The minimum temperature recorded was -3 degree centigrade in Gopas, Astore (-2°C) and Bagrot (-1°C).
