KARACHI: The first spell of winter rain exposed the hollow claims and performance of provincial and district administrations as the city roads have been turned into ponds.
The rains water is standing on many busy thoroughfares, which caused serve traffic jam on the roads.
The ongoing tug of war between the provincial government and the local government has brought miseries to the people of the metropolis. The rains, which started since yesterday, has exposed the hollow claims of developments and rains emergency measures.
On the other hands, Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar has declared rain emergency and cancelled leaves of the KMC officials. He also visited many city areas and inspected work to drain out rainwater from different roads.
Meanwhile, Minister for Local Government Jam Khan Shoror also visited different city areas and inspected cleanliness works.
