Ramadan Moon Sighted, First Ramadan On Thursday

Karachi(May 16, 2018): The holy month of Ramazan begins in Pakistan after initial testimonies of the sighting of the moon was declared by the Ruet E Hilal Committee.

Chairman Ruet-e-Hilal committee Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman made announcement regarding the sighting of the moon, marking the beginning of the holy month.

First fast of Ramazan shall be observed in Pakistan on Thursday, May 17, 2018.Preparations to offer Namaz-e-Tarawee after the Isha prayer in mosques around the country have been made.

Usually, Gulf states are the first to see the Ramadan moon before others and begin the Holy month but the whole world is going to enter the Holy month of Ramadan together this year.

After the announcement, Pakistan, after a decades-long lapse, has joined other world countries in starting the fasting month on the same day

According to media reports, Muslims in Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, Oman, Kuwait, Iraq, Iran, Palestine, the United Kingdom, Australia and Japan will also begin the holy month form Thursday.
