ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that the Ramazan moon is likely to be sighted on May 27 (Saturday) and the first day of the holy month will begin on May 28 (Sunday).
PMD said, ‘According to astronomical parameters, there is slight chance of sighting the new moon of Ramazan 1438 AH on the evening of 26-05-2017 on 29th of Shaban.’
The Central Reut–e-Hilal Committee meeting is scheduled to be held on May 26 (Friday) in Islamabad for sighting the crescent. But according to the PMD office, there are slight chances that the new moon will be visible on May 26 evening.
Fair or partially cloudy weather is expected on May 26 across the country.
