Ramzan To Commence On Monday in KP: Mufti Popalzai

PESHAWAR: Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai has once again rejected the Ruet-e-Hilal’s decision and announced that the holy month of Ramzan will start on Monday across the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

According to details, the self-imposed cleric held a meeting at Mosque Qasim Ali and claimed of receiving moon sighting evidences from several cities.

“The decision was based on several testimonies gathered by the mosque,” he added.

Earlier, Ruet-e-Hilal committee announced that the Ramadan moon was not sighted in Pakistan, hence first Roza will be on Tuesday (07th May).

“Ramadan moon not sighted in Pakistan, the first Roaz would be observed on Tuesday (May 07),” announced Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman while addressing a press conference in Karachi.

A meeting of Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee with the chair of Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman was held today at the Karachi Met Office.

The Zonal and District Ruet-e-Hilal committees also held their meetings at their respective venues for collecting evidences in respect of sighting of the moon.
