Rangers arrest 5 MQM-London workers

KARACHI: Rangers arrested five workers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London (MQM-L) as the party workers attempted to go to Yadgar-e-Shuhada at Jinnah Ground.

As per details, MQM-L workers gathered at Liaqat Chowk and attempted to go to Yadgar-e-Shuhada to pay tribute to deceased workers. However, police and Rangers troops restrained them from going to Jinnah Ground.

The MQM workers resorted to sloganeering in favour of MQM founder Altaf Hussain. Rangers arrested five workers when they tried to hoist MQM-L flags at Liaqat Chowk.

Following the arrest of the five workers, the female workers protested their arrest and indulged in arguments with Rangers personnel.

On the other hand, a Ranger officer told media that they did not stop anyone from offering Fateha or Quran Khwani. He said that the workers were arrested after they tried to hoist flags and obstruct traffic flow.
