Islamabad (March 20, 2018): Former Panama JIT Head Wajid Zia is recording his statement before the accountability court in Islamabad as per the record of volume III of the JIT.
The accountability court judge Muhammad Bashir is hearing the case in interim references filed by NAB in Avanfield and Flagship references. Wajid Zia is recording he statement while Sharif family lawyer Khwaja Haris would argue with him.
It is for the third time that his statement is being recorded in the case. During the hearing, Zia submitted official copies of the registry of Nelson Limited, Nescal Ltd, Avanfield property No 16, 16-A and several other documents before the court.
The counsel of Maryam Nawaz, Amjad Pervez raised objection over submitting unverified photocopies of the documents from Zia and said that neither these documents were prepared from Zia nor he had prepared them therefore, as per law, it could not be made part of the court proceedings.
During the proceedings, Zia also brought the sealed letter of Qatari Prince but when it was opened before the court there was no such letter. The court also asked the NAB authorities to submit a prior application if they wanted to make the letter part of the court proceedings.
