Release of Thugs of Hindustan In Danger

Entertainment Desk (October 30, 2018): Pakistan’s Supreme Court on Saturday reinstated a ban on airing Indian content on TV channels in the country, overturning the Lahore High Court’s 2017 order.

Pakistan’s Supreme Court on Saturday restored a ban on the broadcast of Indian content on local television.

“They are trying to (obstruct the construction) of our dam and we cannot even ban their channels?” Mian Saqib Nisar, the Chief Justice of Pakistan said during the hearing of the case filed by the United Producers Association.Nisar ordered a complete “shut down” on the broadcast of Indian shows on Pakistani television channels while adding that “only appropriate content” should be aired.

According to reports, current situation may effect the release of Thugs of Hindustan in Pakistani Theaters.

Thugs of Hindustan will be the Bollywood’s biggest release yet. Indian movies are popular in Pakistan and throughout the region, and Bollywood employs many Pakistani musicians and actors. Because of that, Pakistan has a huge number of Bollywood viewers.
