Islamabad(June 28, 2018): The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has approved repatriation of Hasan, Hussain Nawaz through Interpol, the bureau’s chairman confirmed on Thursday.

NAB chief Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal told media the accountability body has accorded approval to bring Hasan and Hussain Nawaz, the sons of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, back to Pakistan with the Interpol’s assistance.

Dismissing speculation, Iqbal said the bureau does not have any political motives and is not out to target any political party. “[Politicians] can run election campaign but when summoned before NAB, they should appear before the bureau,” he added.

NAB Approves Hassan, Hussain, Dar Repatriation Through Interpol:

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has tightened the grip around the sons of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, Hussain and Hassan Nawaz and former finance minister Ishaq Dar and has given go-ahead to bring them back through Interpol.

In a meeting, the chairman NAB Justice retired Javed Iqbal given the approval for repatriation of sons of Nawaz Sharif and Ishaq Dar through Interpol and a recommendation will be submitted to interior ministry for the issuance of the red warrant of all three accused.NAB Approves Hassan, Hussain, Dar Repatriation Through InterpolHassan and Hussain had already been declared absconders in the Avenfield reference which is at an advanced stage in the accountability court with lawyers of both sides presenting their concluding arguments.

Meanwhile, Dar was indicted in the assets beyond income case pending before the accountability court which involves bigwigs from the State Bank and National Bank.

The bureau has decided to reach out to relevant Interpol authorities to bring back the trio. With the request, NAB will attach additional documents verifying why the three need to be brought back to the country.Both of Nawaz’s sons are in London at the bedside of their ailing mother Begum Kulsoom Nawaz who has been on the ventilator for almost ten days. Nawaz and daughter Maryam are also currently in the UK following a three-day extension in their exemption from appearance in the Avenfield reference case.

NAB has also summoned N-League finance minister Miftah Ismail on July 5 in JJVL case while senator Mehmoodul Hassan has also been summoned in assets beyond income charges.
