ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday sought a reply from the federal government over the appointment of two members in National Finance Commission (NFC).
Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzaib of the IHC heard Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khurram Dastagir petition against the appointment of two members of NFC.
Petitioner’s counsel contended that President consultation with all the governors of provinces is a must to induct unelected person in the NFC which was not done in this case, henceforth, the appointment of two members of NFC are unconstitutional.
To which the court has sought reply of the federal government on the issue by issuing notice to it.
