Karachi (December 08, 2017): The rescue operation for searching those missing in Thursday’s boat capsize near Thatta resumed Friday morning.
Divers from Pakistan Navy, Rangers, Police and local fishermen are taking parts in the operation, which was halted yesterday due to darkness of the night.
At least 22 people were killed and 47 injured as a boat carrying more than 80 pilgrims capsized in heavy winds near the ancient city of Thatta on Thursday.
The dead included women and children, while 20 others were rescued.
Rescue officials said on Friday that they have pulled out another body from the water, taking the death toll to 22.
Meanwhile, police said they have arrested two people, including the owner of the boat.
