ISLAMABAD: Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, senior senator and Pakistan Peoples Party stalwart, has asked National Assembly speaker Asad Qaiser to tender resignation, questioning his authority as speaker of the lower house of the legislation.
Prime Minister Imran Khan, in PTI’s parliamentary meeting held on Monday, issued strict orders of not issuing production orders for any under-arrest politician.
Reacting to Premier’s statement, Nayyar said: “Non-issuance of production orders for Asif Ali Zardari, Mohsin Dawar, Ali Wazir and Khawaja Saad Rafique shows the pressure of Prime Minister onto speaker”.
He said that Asad Qaiser is obliged to abide by constitutional requirements.
He added that NA speaker must resign if he helplessly heads the session and accords no authority.
