LAHORE: A resolution was submitted in Punjab Assembly on Tuesday calling for Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa to be awarded ‘Tamgha-e-Jamhuriat’ (Medal for Democracy).
The resolution was submitted by PTI leader Haroon Gul in the provincial assembly.
It stated: “Parliament witnesses the Army Chief with an incredible honour for serving the country with absolute professionalism as a soldier, working for national safety”.
It added that the parliament lauds General Bajwa’s unbiased attitude for prestige and stability of democracy in Pakistan.
