WASHINGTON: A resolution lauding Pakistan’s efforts against terrorism has been presented in the U.S. House of Representatives. The resolution, presented as Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is on his way to U.S. visit, seeks recognization of services rendered by Pakistan in its war against terrorism.
Calling Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif a symbol of the first ever successful transfer of democratic power credited him with implementing the National Action Plan to defeat terrorism. Over 50,000 Pakistanis have given their lives in war against terrorism.
The resolution stresses that U.S. will continue its support for Pakistan in its war against terrorism as well continue bilateral cooperation in trade, education and development sector and democratic process.
According to Pakistan’s Ambassador to the U.S. Jalil Abbas Jilani the resolution has been made a part of the record of U.S. Congress.
