ISLAMABAD (May 02, 2017): The government has appointed Riaz Riazuddin as acting governor of State Bank of Pakistan on Monday.
After the approval of PM Nawaz Sharif, a notification has been issued to appoint Riazuddin Riaz as acting governor State Bank of Pakistan.
The notification said that Riaz Raziuddin has been appointed as acting governor of the central bank for a period of three months or till the appointment of a regular governor of SBP. Riaz has until now been serving as Deputy Governor SBP.
The key post fell vacant after former SBP Governor Ashraf Mehmood Wathra completed his tenure on April 29.
