ؒLahore (August 19, 2017): Although spokesperson PML-N has denied any differences among the Sharif family over NA-120 by-poll responsibilities but appointment of Pervaiz Malik as incharge of NA-120 by-poll campaign following the Hamza Sharif appointment for the same slot has raised eyebrows and speculation over the cracks in Sharif family ranks.
The spokesperson of PML-N turned down the speculation of differences in Sharif family and said that being a president of PML-N Lahore chapter Pervaiz Malik will head the NA-120 by poll campaign and Hamza Shahbaz, Maryam Nawaz will also coordinate with him.

“The speculation regarding rifts among Sharif family baseless and the opponents wish to create gulf among Sharif family will never be accomplished,” spokesperson said.
Later, daughter of deposed prime minister Maryam Nawaz also set aside the speculations over difference in Sharif family and posted a picture of NA-120 election campaign on social media website Twitter.

“The entire PML-N leadership is on a page and news regarding rift among them false and mala fide and those having such wish will face embarrassment in this connection,” she said in her tweet.
She said that Hamza Sharif and Malik Pervaiz will jointly run the NA-120 by-poll campaign.
However despite rebuttal from PML-N and Maryam Nawaz regarding rift among PML-N or Sharif family, the meeting held at Shahrae Quaid e e Azam to review strategy over NA-120 by-poll campaign presided over by Hamza Shahbaz rather Pervaiz Malik, despite he was also present in the meeting.
Earlier News came that the rift within the house of Sharifs seemed to further deepen as former prime minister Nawaz Sharif put PMLN leader and Commerce Minister Pervez Malik in-charge of the by-election campaign for the National Assembly constituency NA-120, ignoring his nephew Hamza Shahbaz Sharif.
Nawaz Sharif’s decision has angered Hamza Shahbaz who might leave the country and stay abroad till the election is over.
Nawaz Sharif forced Malik to assume the charge of the campaign when the latter said Hamza Shahbaz is also suitable for fulfilling the task since he had run vigorous campaign during local government election.
Although Hamza Shahbaz, who was also present in the meeting, didn’t raise any objection over the decision, he was visibly perturbed for being ignored by his uncle.
Earlier this week, the returning officer approved nomination papers of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Begum Kulsoom Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) candidate Yasmin Rashid, and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) candidate Faisal Mir for the NA-120 (Lahore-III) by-election.
The NA-120 seat fell vacant after the Supreme Court disqualified Nawaz Sharif as prime minister in Panama Papers case.
In the 2013 General Elections, Nawaz had won the seat by a substantial margin, defeating PTI’s Yasmin Rashid – who will be contesting for the seat this time around too.
By-election on the seat is scheduled for Sunday, September 17, 2017.
