ISLAMABAD: Nawabzada Shahzain Bugti and Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) have been issued notices by the Supreme Court of Pakistan on a case pertaining to alleged rigging in the recent elections here on Friday.
As per details, a two-member bench of the SC headed by Justice Musheer Alam heard a case pertaining to alleged rigging in National Assembly’s constituency NA-259.
Earlier, a plea was filed by the Sardar Mirbaz Khetran in ECP which was later turned down.
To which, Sardar Mirbaz Khetran challenged the ECP’s verdict in SC. The SC on the request of the petitioner had issued notices to Shahzain Bugti and ECP and adjourned the hearing for two weeks.
It is pertinent to mention here that Nawabzada Shahzain Bugti contested election against the petitioner from NA-259 on the ticket of Jamhoori Watan Party and won the election by taking 22,787.
