Lahore (July 27, 2018): The Returning Officer accepted Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Saad Rafique’s request on Friday, who challenged his opponent Imran Khan’s victory in NA-131 Lahore 9 constituency.
Saad Rafique, who lost to the PTI chairman in a neck to neck contest filed a complaint with the returning officer alleging that the presiding officer deliberately rejected hundreds of votes.
The RO has ordered for a recount in the constituency.
The former federal minister claimed that the presiding officer deliberately rejected many votes in NA-131.

Imran won NA-131 Lahore 9 with 84,313 votes, defeating Rafique who managed to get 83,633 votes, according to the unofficial results from all polling stations in the constituency.
Earlier, four PTI leaders on Friday filed a petition for vote recounting in their constituencies to returning officers (RO).
Aleem Khan has requested the recount in PP-162 Lahore, Zulfiqar Shah in NA-100 Chiniot and Atif Khan in NA-21 Mardan.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Qaiser Sheikh garnered victory from NA-100, Awami National Party’s (ANP) Ameer Haider Hoti from NA-21, while PML-N’s Yasin Sohal became successful from PP-162.
The petitions maintain that hundreds of votes were rejected intentionally, therefore’ a recount should be held.
