ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to implement Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s Green Pakistan idea and in this regard the largest programme in the history of Pakistan, Green Sector Program, was approved.
The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) of the Planning Commission approved the program in its meeting held yesterday.
Under the Program, plantation would be carried our in four provinces of the country; Sindh Balochistan, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa- Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan at a cost of Rs3.5 billions.
The Program was approved on the special directives of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif so that Pakistan could have access to $100 billion dollar International Green Funds.
