Rs5.76 BN Corruption Case: SHC Orders To Club Bail Pleas

Karachi  (November 29, 2017): Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday ordered clubbing bail application of all accused in Rs5.76 billion corruption case.

A division bench of SHC heard bail applications of accused in RS5.76 billion reference over alleged corruption in Sindh Information Department.

On the occasion former Secretary Information Zulfiqar Shalwani and other filed bail application. Upon this the court ordered clubbing the bail application of all accused in the case.The court ordered the application counsels to advance arguments on the application on next date of hearing.

The court then adjourned hearing of the case till December 13, 2017.It is to be mentioned here that former Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon and other accused in the case are in jail after an SHC bench last month refused to extend their interim bail and ordered NAB to arrest the accused.

Memon and other accused are facing charges of corruption worth Rs5.76 billion in the allocations of advertisements for the Sindh government’s electronic media awareness campaigns.
