ISLAMABAD: The federal government has released ‘Green Pakistan’ funds to four provinces, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan and FATA on the directives of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
The first installment of Green Pakistan fund has been released on the eve of World Forest Day being observed today.
The released funds would be used to fight impact of climate change, increasing forest cover in the country and avoid disasters and damages caused by natural calamities.
Sources said that as a first installment, Rs550 million have been released to the provinces inlcuding KP, Balochistan, Sindh, Pujjab, AJK, Gilgit-Baltistan and FATA.
