Rwp Test: Sri Lanka Resumes 2nd Day Play with Bat

RAWALPINDI: The first test between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, has entered into second day on Thursday with Sri Lanka having the score of 206-5 on board.

The visitors finished first day with the score of 202 for the loss of five wickets, as the bad light interrupted the play. The match was closed with 23 overs remaining, due to bad lights.

After visitors dominated the first session, Pakistan came back strongly with their pace attack in the next two sessions and sent five batsmen back to the pavilion.

Naseem Shah showcased a superb performance, taking two wickets while Shaheen Shah Afridi, Usman Shinwari and Muhammad Abbas picked up one each.

Dimuth Karunaratne, the Sri Lankan Test captain, was the highest scorer for the team putting 59 runs on the scoreboard before being sent back to the stands.

Earlier, Sri Lankan captain won the toss and elected to bat first against the hosts on Wednesday as test cricket returned to Pakistan after a decade.

The Pindi Cricket Stadium is hosting its first major international match since India played a Test match at the stadium in 2004.

PCB has also waved the price of ticket on the second day of the match. The crowd can enter into the stadium and watch the game for free, just by showing their identity cards at the entrance.
