Rwp Test: Sri Lanka Win Toss, Opt to Bat

RAWALPINDI: Sri Lanka has won the toss and elected to bat first against the hosts on Wednesday as test cricket returns to Pakistan after a decade.

Captain Azhar Ali, at the toss said, Yasir Shah and Imam-ul-haq are out of the playing XI meanwhile Abid Ali and Usman Shinwari are playing their debut match today.

He expressed great contentment over playing at home ground after 10-years.

Sri Lanka skipper on the other hand, also expressed happiness over playing in Pakistan and said, ‘Our players are used to with conditions here, we have not played in Pakistan since a long time’.

The pitch is good for batting, so we elected to bat first, he added.

Haris Sohail who was a complete flop in Australia tour is playing today, with Fawad Alam once again being ignored.

High-level security has been set up around Rawalpindi cricket stadium.
