ISLAMABAD: Previous minister for railways and senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Khawaja Saad Rafique has declared running of additional news trains responsible for train accidents in the country.
Talking to media outside the parliament house, Khawaja Saad Rafique said that the government came on power with a slogan of change has put a reverse gear in the Railways.
The PML-N senior leader urged the Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed not to make the institution a place of the political fighting ground and talk of the railways’ matters in its committee rooms while press clubs and the party headquarters are the places to discuss politics.
Khawaja Saad Rafique in his logic said that the running of new trains added up the trains accident numbers in the country while he claimed that the railways’ minister started the Dhabayjee train to make the President of the country happy.
He said lie has been told on the project of Mail Line (ML) project as in his government the reconciliatory memorandum was signed instead of the agreement with China.
The former railways’ minister said that the PML-N had increased the development budget of the railways up to Rs 40 billion while the incumbent government allocated Rs 16 billion for its development project and estimated its deficit up to Rs 39 billion.
Saad Rafique said that the government has increased the railways’ fares for the second time which is condemnable.
He said that in his time the railways’ fuel stock was up to 20 days now it decreased to just three days in the PTI government.
