LAHORE: An accountability court in Lahore will hold hearing of Paragon City housing scandal while Khawaja brothers will also be presented before the court on Saturday after completion of 14-day judicial remand in Paragon City Housing scam case.
The Khawaja Brothers will be presented before accountability court’s judge Syed Najamul Hassan.
Strict security arrangements were made in and outside the accountability court’s building. Surrounding areas of the court were blocked with barbed wires and containers while traffic police officials were also deployed to maintain traffic flow.
Earlier on February 2, the accountability court in Lahore sent Khawaja Saad Rafique and Khawaja Salman Rafique to jail on 14-day judicial remand after accepting plea of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
The former railways minister and his brother appeared before the accountability court after completion of 7-day physical remand during hearing of Paragon City Housing Society scam case.
The anti-corruption watchdog pleaded the court for extending physical remand of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) legislator in the National Assembly and his brother to continue investigation into the high-profile corruption case.
Later, the accountability court accepted NAB’s plea and directed to produce the accused on February 16.
