Sacrilegious Content Case: IHC to resume hearing today

ISLAMABAD: Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui of Islamabad High Court will resume hearing of the case pertaining to sacrilegious matter on the social media.

In the last hearing Interior secretary had informed the court that so far three suspects have been arrested of whom two are directly involved in this disgusting work. The issue has also been put before the ambassadors of 27 Muslim countries and they are being informed that the sacrilegious content of Facebook has hurt the feelings of the Muslims a while a Joint Investigation Team has also been formed to probe the case.

He had also informed the court that 85 percent of the blasphemous content content is being removed from the Facebook while over 15 percent of is still there. He also said that closing down Facebook is not the solution of the issue.

Justice Siddiqui had also said that the entire government had left the entire work on Chaudhary Nisar’s shoulders. Where are IT expert Ahsan Iqbal and the Religious Minister, Anusha Rahman should appear in the court and tell it why this issue has not been resolved, he had said.

During the last hearing on March 27 chairman PTA had informed that court that action against 40 pages has been taken  while a team is searching for such other sacrilegious content. The Facebook has removed the inciting and infuriating content, he said while calling Facebook acceding to PTA’s demand to remove the blasphemous content.
