NEW DELHI: Prices of common salt climbed up to 200 rupees per Kilogram following rumors about its scarcity in Uttar Pradesh, state of India.
According to the details, salt scarcity created panic among masses in India and people looted salt godowns in Gonda district of UP. The panic stricken shopkeepers shut their shops following the spread of the rumours.
In a bid to dispel the fears of the people, UP Chief Minister said that there was no shortage of salt in the state. He urged the people not pay attention to the rumours.
