RIYADH: The death toll of floods that swept various areas of the country following heavy downpour has risen to 17. Numerous people have also been injured from lightning and traffic accidents.
Rescue agencies pulled of 300 people from the floods in Mekkah region, Riyadh, Jazan, Tabuk, and eastern province and shifted them to safe places.
Dozens of houses and roads have been destroyed while telecommunication and sewerage system have also been damaged in rains and floods for the last two days.
Saudi authorities appealed to its citizens and migrants not to venture out of their houses unnecessarily.
