Riyadh (September 05, 2018): Saudi Arabia-led collation forces on Tuesday night shot down two missiles fired by Houthi militia.
Whereas, Houthis separately claimed in a tweet that they fired four missiles at a Saudi Aramco refinery and petrochemical facilities in Jizan Economic City.Saudi state news agency said there were no casualties. The Houthis, who hold Yemen´s capital Sanaa, have fired dozens of missiles into the kingdom in recent months. Most of the missiles have been intercepted by the Saudi military.
Earlier on April 27, Saudi Arabia’s air defenses had intercepted a missile fired by Houthi militia, days after their second-in-command was killed in an air raid by Riyadh and its allies.
The missile, the latest in a series of similar attacks, was heading towards Najran. Colonel Turki Al-Maliki, the official spokesman for the coalition supporting legitimacy in Yemen, stated that the missile was directed towards Najran in a deliberate attempt by Houthi militia to target residential areas, but that coalition air defense forces successfully intercepted it.The missile’s fragments scattered over residential areas as a result, but no injuries or damages were reported.
Saudi Arabia launched a military coalition in 2015 to battle the Houthi rebels in its southern neighbor and restore the internationally-recognized Yemeni government to power.
