ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court of Pakistan on Friday accepted the Meesha Shafi’s petition for hearing against the Lahore High Court (LHC) verdict regarding the rejection of her petition for separately recording and cross-examining the statements of Ali Zafar’s witnesses.
A three-member bench of SC headed by Justice Mushir Alam will take up a petition of Meesha on May 09.
The singer had filed the petitioner through Barrister Azmat Harris, praying to declare the LHC’s decision null and void and allow the cross-examination of the witnesses separately.
In April 2018, Meesha had accused singer Ali Zafar of sexual harassment. While the singer took to the social media to make her voice heard, Zafar responded with legal advances, announcing he would be taking a professional route on the matter.
