LAHORE: The Supreme Court (SC) approved bail plea of an accused in triple murder case.
A two-member bench led by Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa heard bail plea of an accused in triple murder case at SC Lahore registry on Monday.
Sajjad Qamar, lawyer of the accused told court that the case was filed in Pakistan against his client when was in Dubai for employment. Qamar added that police officials were given all evidences for his residency in foreign country but his client was arrested after returning to Pakistan.
He pleaded the court for approving bail of the accused, whereas, complainant’s lawyer objected the plea as statements of the witnesses were recorded in the case.
CJP Khosa remarked, “We have a issue that we don’t read regulations. The court can approve bail even a day before releasing verdict in accordance with the law. Innocent must not be stayed behind bars even for a single day.”
Later, the top court approved bail plea of the accused.
