SC Decision Had Lowered Prestige of Country: Nawaz

Mureedkay (August 12, 2017) Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, while addressing a big crowd at Mureedkay in last leg of his GT Road rally raged at the Supreme Court verdict disqualify him as member of the National Assembly.

Addressing the gathering upon his arrival in Muridke on Saturday he said that Nawaz Sharif was ousted for not committing corruption, embezzlement or taking kick-backs and commission rather for not drawing salary from his own son’s company .

He questioned as to how anyone can get salary from his own son.

He said that SC verdict had brought bad name for Pakistan across the world. He added the decision had lowered the prestige and honor of the country.

“No one is accepting the decision in the world. People of the country are rejecting the decision and I am not accepting this decision too,” he thundered.

“We have to bring change and revolution in this country. This country belonged to 20 million people of the country and you should support me and join me,” he urged.

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, on the fourth day of his journey to Lahore via GT Road promised his supporters he would never betray them.Nawaz reiterated his position on being disqualified for not having taken salary from his son’s company.

Earlier, Sharif left Gujranwala for Lahore on Saturday afternoon, continuing his homecoming journey in the shape of massive rally.

The rally at Muridke was warmly welcomed by a large number of the PML-N workers and supporters.

The former PM’s cavalcade made its first stopover at Kamoke, as eager supporters gathered on the route in hundreds to greet him.

Preparations to welcome the ousted prime minister in Lahore were in full swing, as locals decorated Shahdara Chowk and other venues with posters and banners of Nawaz Sharif.

Ravi Road, all the way from Shahdara to Daata Darbar, was closed to traffic from 9am onwards ahead of Nawaz’s arrival.

PML-N workers and supporters set up stages in different areas of the city as part of the preparations to greet the former PM.
