Lahore (November 17, 2018): Supreme Court of Pakistan has dissolved the Punjab Healthcare Commission Board and has ordered to constitute a new Board in two weeks to run the Commission.

The judgement was announced by the two-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Mian Saqib Nisar in Lahore on Saturday.

During the proceedings, provincial health minister Dr Yasmin Rashid appeared before the court. The CJP asked about member of health commission Hussain Naqi who was reason behind Justice (r) Amir Raza’s resignation.

The member told the ‎court that he had served as Union Secretary at Islamia College over which, the top judge said, “You should ‎better leave the board and join the college.”‎Naqi said that why he should leave the board as he was elected as a member of it. In a response, Justice ‎Nisar dissolved the board.‎

The CJP directed to form new independent and neutral board in two weeks. ‎He also reprimanded Hussain Naqi over his rude behavior and ordered to take him outside the courtroom. ‎

On the other hand, Mian Saqib Nisar has taken notice of the poor ‎condition at United Christian Hospital (UCH) in Lahore and will visit it today.

He directed to ‎provide health facilities at the medical centers for the relief of the masses.‎ Christian community should not feel deprived, the CJP added. ‎
