Supreme Court (SC) has expressed dissatisfaction over report of mega corruption cases submitted by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and summoned detailed reply over the matter. Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja said that it seemed NAB is trying to hide mega cases.
Justice Jawwad S. Khawaja headed three-member bench heard cases against NAB irregularities. NAB submitted list of mega corruption cases in the Supreme Court (SC) that include more than 150 cases.
The list include names of former president Asif Ali Zardari, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi. NAB apprised the apex court that inquiry of 29 land scandal cases, investigation of 13 cases were completed and eight references were prepared. The report said that former president Asif Ali Zardari accused in having illegal assets worth Rs22 billion.
The apex court declared the report incomplete and said that NAB should tell about time of the complaints to file important points of the reports; as well as details of the confirmation and interrogation process. The court also rejected NAB plea to seek four more months to hold inquiry and adjourned the court till July 13.
