SC Hears Axed Judge Arshad Malik’s Video Scandal Case

ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court of Pakistan is hearing the purported video scandal case against axed Accountability Judge Arshad Malik.

Petitioner Ishtiaq Mirza’s lawyer is presenting his arguments before a three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa.

The top court had approved the hearing of the video scandal on July 12.

A citizen of Islamabad named, Ishtiaq Ahmed Mirza has filed the petition in the SC insisting the superior court to order an investigation of the purported video and take action against those involved as contempt of court to retain the dignity of the judiciary.

The petition viewed that the inquiry will respond to questions raised on the judiciary’s dignity, respect and independence and insisted the court investigating the matter at all cost.

The petition has made the federal government, Shahbaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, Shahid Khaqan Abbassi and Raja Zafar Ul Haq while the main character of the video Judge Arshad Malik and Nasir Butt also made the respondents in the petition.
